When the software company turns the spigot off on SaaS (Software as a Service), brother it is OFF. Remember Adobe's Flash and Shockwave? I have never seen software killed so thoroughly and absolutely before.

I believe the Rodecaster Pro 2 was the first audio interface to include 2 USB C outputs to connect to multiple computers or other devices. It's nice to see other companies following suit.

I just want to put this out there for anybody considering an Antelope Audio device. I've been using their Zen Go for a few years now and it has been my daily workhorse in the studio. It has never let me down and the quality is higher than every other interface I've tried. I have often compared the quality of my raw mic audio against friends who use the Apollo Twin and honestly, it's a night and day difference to my ears. I often receive compliments on the quality of the audio I deliver from these preamps. So if that's anything to go by, then these new updated preamps in the Quadro must be insane! I love buying new gear and I keep trying to convince myself to move over to other brands but at the end of the day, I would just be wasting money.

I have subscribed and very much look forward to the new content. Many thanks for all your previous content and tutorials - they are very much appreciated.

Regarding the discussion at minute 12, for a long song, if I zoom out enough to see the end of the track and place the “adjustment” cursor. I can’t see the transients well enough because I am so zoomed out. How can I resolve this problem?

I support a subscription option for those who prefer it, but absolutely not as the only option. I flat-out refuse to subscribe to a product. It amounts to having my work held hostage for a monthly ransom. If a company wants to collect its feature updates into periodic paid upgrades, that's fine. Updates to fix bugs should always be free.

Wow this is so tempting! Particularly if it does away with the latency issues associated with virtual amps and such!

I see no difference here really from the zen go which you can find at bargain prices new and especially used because of the poor reliability and reputation Antelope has earned.

Reaper is not sinister at all and he is far above the other daws. to talk about it you have to take the trouble to know it.. in the meantime it is 70 euros.. and we keep it without paying anything for at least 4 years.. regularly there are completely free updates. there are thousands of possible action that others don't even think about..I really liked cakewalk (as well as your tutorials),..but it's not comparable..moreover no announcements are made to find out if there are any new tools, vsti, and other plugins.. I think cakewalk nex or sonar will still have setbacks.

Hi Mike, thanks for the great video. I just have one question for you and I'm hoping you'll be able to help me. How much of a hassle is it to initially set up this audio interface with your computer (Mac)? That seems to be the main issue people have with Antelope audio interfaces. It doesn't seem to be plug-and-play according to reviews. How does the Quadro fare in this regard?

Looks like a nice piece of equipment. The software appears to be like a built in DAW. This combo should have been exploited a long time ago. Zero latency. Now that would be a dream machine. Audio interface with a full blown DAW all in one package. One could even employ real analogue tubes in the preamp section. I actually have a hybrid unit that combines analogue at the front end and digital on the way out. GSP 2101 guitar signal processor. But it doesn't have a DAW built into it.

Would love to see how the Lewitt Connect 6 and iConnect Audio 4c (or their other stuff) compares to this! They also have the dual usb host capability so this isn't the first time we're seeing it, but it's so great that more audio interfaces are having this feature now. Good work.

I was planning on upgrading my Audient ID14 mkII for an ID24 just so I could bypass the preamps (for a Jensen Twin Servo preamp). Can you patch in another preamp and bypass the interface's internal preamps with a line in selector? If that's the case I'll save some more pennies for better headphone setup and high gain preamps for ribbon mics.

Can I use these plugins im fl Studio?

This Tape Saturation plugin from Softube is exactly what I was looking for. I tried many different saturators, but this one has that gentle, subtle touch that I needed.

If your DAW has an option to hide plugins from you that you don't want to see... It's kind of a nice option. you'd have to go looking for them.

Addictive drums' hit-hats, crashes and rides are the best of all the drum vsts I've ever used and there were many... However, the toms sound as if we were playing in a plastic bucket, the snares are cool and the bass drum It's a bit messy in the mix, if they improved the timbres of the toms and the bass drum, Addictive Drums would certainly be the best drum vst in the world.

Either you're creative or you are not. Theory is simply a tool. Creative people use theory to create. Learning basic music theory has allowed me to tap into my creativity in numerous ways.

I live in Podunk USA. No Internet access. So when the DAW platforms were no longer available with an installation disc and only gave an activation code to download software, I stopped purchasing them.

Needless to say, the companies need to profit and what they do is to analyze the customers needs, the market they are into and the possible monetization models. If your market is "professional only clients that use the product every day and make profit from it", a subscription model will make sense if they need constant updates or improvements. The montly fee has to be enough for the company AND the client to make profit. Now, as mentioned below, if the client persona is a hobbyist, a different model may be rollet out (that if the company decides to keep that type of client, of course). Even more, since a professional DAW may contain features only meaningful to professionals, it would make sense to have different products for different personas, which may be the case for Next and Sonar. There are other models, though: - One base core that is free, with plugins that may be added for a price. - The old Big Price for current version, discounted price for updated, with spaced updates. - The common subscription model with different levels (sets of features aimed at different personas with different prices). What should be clear is that a full professional DAW with constant improvements and new features cannot be free for everyone, and that the market and model decisiones the company make will definitevely affect their user log.

Screw it all. Big business controls everything at this point. Musicians are t-shirt salesmen or making music for mind rot films or advertising.

Great and informative video, as usual. I think the Ample Sound Upright is the best sounding - with Session Bassist running a very close second. Its just a matter of time before I eventually shell out the bucks the Ample. I regret not buying Modo Bass 2 when it was on sale for $49. I am currently using an inexpensive alternative, the Adam Monroe Upright. Even at a price of less than $20, I still thought the Adam Monroe was very disappointing. However, I double track it with the free Acoustic Bass in the TTS-1 and then blend the two, using the Adam Monroe for the high end articulation and the TTS-1 for the bottom end bass. The two together sound pretty decent IMHO.

Windows programs work with nearly every single version of Windows. Apple programs tend to only work with around two years' worth of OSX. Very different to Windows.
